Michigan State

This is the time to be a Spartan fan you got basketball that's ranked in the top 5 and you got the football team that is now heading to the B10 Championship game. To all of the students that are able to follow them through it all are the lucky ones. To have a team high in the ranks makes the sporting events ten times better. You have some of the best athletes that are playing in front of your eyes, some of them may even go pro.

Football

Call me a ban wagon fan all you want but I can prove that i have been a fan of the New England Patriots since they were bad and ever since they had players like Troy Brown and players that some of you have no idea who they are including Ty Law. Yes I am from Michigan and yes i like the lions but the Pats are what make watching football fun.

Homework

Sitting here in Biggby Coffee wondering why I have to do so much homework is actually depressing because i had all week to get some of it done but you know me i wait till the last minute to do things. I have no to blame but my self, but that's what happens when you get so much homework all the time you just need a break of doing nothing. The fact that I'm am writing this when i should be writing a paper for extra credit.

Thanksgiving

This was the first thanksgiving that my brothers weren't home, and let me tell you that it was kind of strange.  Both of my brothers are in the sunshine state and are living their lives. Thanksgiving is the time where you get to eat as much food as you want and get to watch as much football as you want. This week was a well need week, a lot of family time which is always good got to hang out with some friends that i haven't seen in a while. Get caught up with everyone was the best part hearing all of the crazy stories and so on. it make me wonder what Christmas brake is going to be like.

Having a roommate

From my own house to my dorm room, i still have a roommate. I mean its not that bad to have someone to hangout with if you actually do. At home i was a twin that shared a room for 18 years and we did everything together but now that i live up my roommate and i don't do anything together. I used to hangout with my brother every day whether it's playing video games or just hanging out with each other. The difference between home and here is that up here I don't hang out with my roommate or even really talk to him. We don't ever hangout in the room or outside of the room it kind of feels like we aren't even roommates.

No Snow

Hearing from people that Marquette is pretty much snow country, and that if you don't like snow you should probably not go up to northern, I felt that they where trying to scare me because they acted like it was a different world of snow. So far we had only two snow storms that weren't actually that bad, and the snow did't stick to the ground for more than a day. Last year at this time there was 3 feet of snow on the ground and right now I'm still wearing shorts. Around thanksgiving is the time of year that i actually want it to snow because the white stuff on the ground allows you to feel the holiday sprite while you are stuffing your mouth with the best food in the world. Snow is not my favorite thing when it comes to weather because i don't really do anything like go skiing or anything like that. The time that snow is a good thing is when it is the holiday season with Christmas and new Years because who wants to wake up to open presents on Christmas with no snow on the ground. I feel that this year will be the mildest winter that we have had in a while.

Ending

My first semester in college is coming to an end, and let me tell you that it was a great one from the social to the books. It only seems like it has only been a couple of weeks since I've had graduated from high school but in reality it has been about half of a year. This semester has also flown by so fast it feels like yesterday that i had moved in to the dorms and met my roommate. The people that i have gotten to met while studying up here are great, my friend group has changed from high school. Hanging out on top of Sugarloaf and having camp fires on beaches will stay with me forever. There are things that i did this first semester that i never thought i would like ham mocking on on top of a mountain to jumping off a 40 foot cliff in to a river. The thing that is my favorite was being on top of the tallest mountain to watch the Northern lights that was the coolest thing i have ever witnessed.

Dear Will Stecker

In the argumentative writing I started to tell a whole new story all because my character  was only in a couple scenes. I stated the scenes that he was in the begging of the paper and then went on to tell a whole different story. I made up an entire life for my character he started out playing football then got kicked of then married a women and then had a kid but didn't have enough money to support them so he had to get a real job. He got a job as a car salesman and started to turn his life around. The money was still not enough so he started to steal cars to sell them for scrap to make money. The company found out and then mad him go to prison for life because he had other charges as well.

This one time

Back in middle school Halloween was a pretty big thing, everyone would go out and trick and treat. One year i thought that it be a good idea to wear a blow up Scottish man that wore a kilt. The problem was that i had no idea that id have so many problems with it. The suit would stay up and the backed ripped as well it was raining. Lets just say that this was probably the worst Halloween that i have ever encountered. To put on top of all this my dog got put down the morning of this Halloween. The candy was good but the weather and the situations that i encountered were not.

"I'm Having a Bad"

When I hear "I'm having a bad day", I think to my self what does a bad consist of? I also tell them that bad days are not real, they are just bad moments that happen in one day. I also tell them that there are 24 hours in a day, and only a couple of the hours are bad. You have plenty more hours to turn the day around to make it a good one. You have the power to make a not so good day into a better day if you want, or you can just let the bad day happen and just be sad all day from the moments that you encountered. There is a saying out there, "you get what you put out to be" meaning, if you put in a lot of work at one thing you come out with a better conclusion. Rather than putting less work in and not getting anything done. The main point to this story is not to tell you that bad moments don't happen but to tell you bad days are not a thing. Some people have more bad things happen to them than others but the bad things don't happen to them every second of the day. 

point of view

In the story Snow white, Red Rose if the main character was the mother it would be a story of someone that is always depressed and is not having a good time.  Also she would have fun and then remember that it wasn't actually fun.

Best game in my life

This last football season was most fun that i have ever had playing any type of sport not because it was my senior year but because we had a team that was just nuts and didn't  want to lose a single game. The best thing about last season was being able to play more than just a regular season we were able to play week longer than most high school teams. The most memorable game that i have ever played in was when we played a town a called Kalkaska its a small town near my home town. This game was a great game that will be in the back of my mind for the rest of my life. This game was the best game that i have ever played in, but on play stands out to me the most it was when i was playing d-end. The Sunday before that in the NFL JJ Watt had a amazing play where he intercepted as well as a touchdown so during my practice that week talked about that play a lot. So in my game i ended up tipping a ball and then snagging it with my left hand a then took it to the house it put our team up  7 it also made the momentum change to help us win the game.

The Movie from He**

Today I went and say the movie the Visit and let me tell you this movie was not a movie that i would say was a family movie ha, The movie was like watching a movie that was made to make people scared about what can actually happen to elderly people which makes the movie 10 times scarier than it should of been but this movie was extremely messed up from start to end. Especially when the old lady is crawling on the ground after her so called grand kids under the house. This movie was not scary it was more of a weird type of scary it builds up the tension and gets ya.

This Weekend

This weekend marks one month since i have moved up here, and let me tell you picking northern as the place to live was probably the best decision that I have ever made. Don't get me wrong I like Charlevoix  but i need to get away from some of the people that i went to high school with. The best part of coming up is a new begging it allows you to make new friends without people judging for what you did in high school it also allows to get friends that are all different type of people like in high school the athletes were friends with the athletes and the skaters were friends with the skaters and so on, but here you hangout with every kind of person. This last month have been a lot of fun by all of the hiking that i have done already and the mocking that i have done and since i have been up here i have done things that i though i would never do for example jumping off a 40 foot cliff in to a river. This month from being away from home was not easy missing the things that mean the most and not talking to the people that raised me everyday is not easy but being up here makes a little easier because everyone up here allows you to do your own thin.

Friends

Going out and meeting new people is probably the best thing that you could do when going to College. It allows you to have people there when you are bored or have nothing to do. You can go hangout with them when your homework is done. Also you don't have to sit by yourself in the cafeteria when you are eating lunch. If you go and say hi to people they will more and likely say hi back and if you are lucky they might actually create conversation with that person. There are the people out there that won't even say anything to you and you just go on with your day but for the most part they all say hi back. If you are complaining that you can't make friends then you must not be trying to hard. It doesn't take much just to go say hi to a person that you are walking pass in the hall.

My Grandpa

My Grandpa was the best offensive line and running back that i have ever heard of, his team back in 1959 went undefeated and underscored on they were the number 1 team in the state at the time. My Grandpa was call the tank because he was 325 pounds and had 3 touchdowns to win a the game in the final game that they had to play of the season. They didn't lose a game for his whole high school career he then went to [play as a Spartan but then had to go home and work in his families store. My Grandpa is the coolest guy out there he knows everything about fishing you could know he the one that taught me all about fishing that i know. He's the one that takes me fishing and lets me keep all of the fish even when he cleans it.

Best time of the year

This time of the year is the best kind of year, because it consists of being lazy on the weekends till the night comes and watching football Thursday Saturday and all day Sunday. The things you can do on the weekends are endless, you can go hangout with your friends or just play things outside like catch or pick up basketball. These days are fun to just hang with people, it allows you to make new friends. Sundays turn in to laundry day and homework day while watching football all day, Football is the best time of the year because it allows you to watch football literally everyday of the week. Some say summer is the best time but to me the fall is the best when you get the weather cools down.

That one time

That one time when a person tells me that Wisconson  is shaped like a mitten gets me every time that it sparks an argument between the Michigander and the Wisconsinite that it is or is not  the shape of a mitten. A couple days ago i was talking to a friend of mine from Wisconson and she stated that she was from the mitten state and i asked her to show me where she lived on the mitten and she couldn't just hold up her hand and point she had to bend the fingers and something else weird like that. The argument went for being a yelling to a factual argument because i asked her how to make the mitten and she couldn't. Then i showed her how to make the whole state of Michigan on the hand and she still didn't believe me.  

Follow someone

I can't speak for my self on this one but what i can tell you that if you are like someone nothing is out of reach. My brother has been dating his girlfriend for about 2 and a half years and the fact his girlfriend was going to college 24 hours away from our hometown and they made it though the a very hard time of not seeing each other for more than 6 months means they can get though anything they want. The point i am making here is that if someone is going to give up it means they don't want to try and if one person in a relationship doesn't want to try, well that means that it won't work anyway, then the questions comes up why are you even dating. I know this is kinda a weird topic to write about but i couldn't think of anything else.

Home

This trip back home was a good one, got to see the boys ball out one more time even though they lost but it was just good time to watch them play a great game against a rivalry game. That was only Thursday night and on Friday I hung out with some friends that are staying home for the first two years so they can save money. They have been my good friends since we were in 2nd grade. We hung out and chilled and played some madden. That was a fun night just catching up since we haven't really hung out this summer because work conflicting. The next morning i went out to breakfast with my parents because the MP wasn't doing it for me if you know what i'm talking about. This trip home was well needed got to watch the Rayders again and got to see everyone again.

A little about me

 Some of you might already know me like KeNen, and Bruce because we went to the same school since we were 5 but i'm going to tell you about my self anyways, I was born on what most of you guys call the best day of the year which is Christmas. I am 18 years old and also have a twin brother but even if you knew him you would still think that we had no relations what so ever. I also have a brother that is 8 years older than I. In high school I played 3 sports throughout the year which included basketball, Football, Baseball, but really the only sport I actually like to play was football that was my strongest sport that I played. My senior year i started both sides playing defensive end and center on offense. We had a strong year last year, we made the playoffs for the first time in 6 years we went 6-3 with a first round playoff lost to Negaunee. That game was a hard game even to step on to the field because we had our starting running back out and our starting qb out which didnt help the cause. At the end of the year I was picked fro All Conference and all area Dream team. Thats a little about my life and what i like to do what i did to make the year go by faster.

Hiking

Today was a day of exploration, one of my\ friends from back home and I went for a long hike up mount Marquette look for the climbing wall yeah we didn't find it but, it was an adventure from driving up a hill that most cars shouldn't go up to walking through the woods not knowing where we were going but all in all we had fun time just walking climbing up rocks that normally shouldn't be stepped on. Walking in the woods can show you a lot of things  of the nature it has to offer the trails for the bikers that want the rush of their lives. The things that the nature shows you can make your day.

Just Hanging

The many ways you can make time go by, rather than just sitting in the dorm room and watching tv the ways are endless, the last two nights I have been to Hogback mountain and Sugarloaf just to hike and just hanging in trees, meaning laying in a hammock. Laying in a hammock is probably the  most peaceful thing you can do, you are just laying there look up at the sky getting deeper and deeper into the stars looking at all of the different constellations from the big dipper to the cepheus then if you get lucky you might be able to see the northern lights which is probably the coolest thing you can see that is up in the sky at night.

Even if you don't think there are things to do just look outside you might just find something that will make your day, even if you don't believe it you can make a lot out of just a little motivation. Just don't sit in side all day complaining to yourself that you have nothing to do because the world is built with many amazing things, you just have to go looking for them.

Small town USA

Coming from a small town in Northern Michigan, that you have to explain to people that it is a hour north of Traverse City, Mi and if they don't know where that its well then you show them the mitten on your hand and point to your ring finger tip to show them where it actually is. Charlevoix is a little summer town and i say summer town because that is when everyone and there brothers and sisters come out and make it take an hour to drive through "downtown" from the end of Draw Bridge that makes every local mad every time it goes up because it takes to long to let the boats go out of the channel, to the top of hill by the liquor store. Charlevoix is just a small town that "fugies" come and help the local business by buying expensive cloths that you could get online for 20-30 dollars cheaper.

Then everything goes down hill after the famous Venetian Festival because everyone that was there for the summer leave to go back to their home towns, then the winter hits and there is nothing going on in town it goes for about 13000 people to about 3000 people so you can just say that Charlevoix is a summer town and thats it.
